Indiana-American Water Company supplies water to Southern Indiana through one common regional water system serving New Albany, Jeffersonville, and Clarksville. The supply consists of 19 deep wells, the water is filtered for iron and manganese removal and disinfected with chlorine. Fluoride is added for dental protection and orthophosphate is added to enhance the water stability. Indiana-American is part of the American Water System, the nation's largest investor owned water utility.

Several local water districts also service the Southern Indiana area. Many purchase their water from Indiana-American for their distribution networks.
