Broadband Speeds Business to New Heights
Join us on May 23rd to learn more!
If broadband internet access is crucial to the future of your business, make plans to join One Southern Indiana and Indiana University Southeast for a Regional Broadband Forum on May 23rd from 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at IU Southeast in the University Center Hoosier Room.
The Broadband Forum will be moderated by Dr. Larry Mand, Vice Chancellor for IT and Community Engagement, and Michael Dalby, President & CEO for One Southern Indiana. Presentations will be made by broadband service providers, fiber optics cable providers, wireless solutions and data storage companies. Additionally, there will be displays and opportunities to speak one-on-one with service providers.
Speedy communication and immediate access to digital media is critical in today’s technology-driven business climate. Applications such as transmitting large documents and plans, videoconferencing, streaming video and audio, and other tools require high bandwidth to realize the full potential these tools offer users.
While broadband access is necessary to compete in today’s global marketplace, access to service is too frequently perceived as out-of-reach or that their current service is “the best it can be”, not realizing the new approaches that exist for many business owners. One Southern Indiana wants to help attendees understand how broadband can be within reach of nearly any business.
Attendees will learn more about broadband and should consider the following:
- What bandwidth do you currently have?
- What do you currently pay for internet service?
- What are you willing to pay for greater bandwidth?
- What types of applications do you need to support?
“We saw a need for this forum because many local business owners see budgets or other restrictions as a roadblock to this important technology,” said Michael Dalby, President and CEO of One Southern Indiana. “At the same time, access to high-speed data and media transmission technology is becoming a necessity to service international markets and even major suppliers. Our goal is to provide viable options to metro businesses to help them compete on a level playing field.”
Broadband Forum attendance is $25 per person and includes a continental breakfast served at 8:00 a.m. with the program beginning promptly at 8:30 a.m. Please register on-line by clicking HERE or by calling 812-945-0266.
