Southern Indiana has an extensive network of Police and Fire Departments ready to protect the citizens of Clark and Floyd Counties. Listed are some of the current numbers of officers per station:


New Albany Police Department: 56 officers
Floyd County Sherriff’s Department: 42 officers
Floyd County Police Department: 5 officers
Sellersburg Indiana State Police Post: 60 officers
Sellersburg City Police Department: 15 officers
Borden Police Department: 2 officers
Georgetown Police Department: 3 officers, 1 reserve
Charlestown Police Department: 16 officers
Clark County Sherriff’s Department: 35 officers
Clarksville Police Department: 34 officers
Jeffersonville Police Department: 52 officers
   
Lafayette Twp.: 2 stations; 34 firefighters; 16 EMT’s; 4 first responders
Charlestown Fire Dept.: 3 stations; 35 firefighters- trained EMT’s
New Albany City Fire Dept.: 5 stations; 82 firefighters- all trained EMT
Greenville Twp.: 2 stations; 31 volunteer firefighters
McCulloch Twp.: 1 station; 8 firefighters and EMT’s
Utica Fire Dept.: 3 stations; 47 firefighters, 10 EMT’s
Monroe Twp.: 2 stations with 51 firefighters
