Ohio Valley Door Corporation expanding its operations
New Albany, Ind. - (February, 2008) – One Southern Indiana officials are pleased to announce expansion plans for Ohio Valley Door Corporation, a producer of wood veneer doors. The company’s expansion plans include the purchasing and installation of new machinery and equipment, as well as a new steel roof which will cover the entire operation.
“I am excited about Ohio Valley Door Corporation’s decision to expand in New Albany,” said Michael Dalby, president and CEO of One Southern Indiana. “They have been in southern Indiana for over 35 years and we are very pleased they will continue serving the Midwest and beyond with their fine products. I also applaud the City of New Albany’s support of this growing company.”
The City of New Albany Economic Development Commission issued the sale of industrial revenue bonds worth up to $2,000,000. The City of New Albany Common Council approved the resolution at the February 4th meeting.
“I am very excited about our expansion,” said owner Gerald Brewer Sr. “It will allow us to upgrade our quality and allow us to operate more efficiently. The economic development team at One Southern Indiana and City of New Albany officials all supported us in this endeavor. We look forward to expanding our business and remaining here in southern Indiana,” he added.
Since One Southern Indiana’s founding in July 2006, the organization’s economic development efforts have resulted in the creation of more than 3,362 net new primary jobs, $130 million in new capital, and more than $116 million in new payroll annually to Clark and Floyd Counties.
“We are excited that Ohio Valley Door Corporation will continue to grow their business here in New Albany,” said City of New Albany Mayor Doug England. “Retaining existing jobs and growing our local economy are a top priority in my administration,” he added.
