Metro United Way is working to advance the common good for everyone in our community by focusing on education, income and health. These are the building blocks for a good life-a quality education that leads to a stable job, enough income to support a family through retirement, and good health.

Metro United Way supports a strong network of quality agencies and programs that serve people who need immediate assistance while pursuing long-lasting positive changes that prevent problems from happening in the first place.

Economic Impact:

Metro United Way funds a variety of social services providing resources to over 160 agencies and programs in our community, such as Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Home of the Innocents, the Salvation Army, the American Cancer Society and the YMCA. Metro United Way works hard to maintain low overhead costs and engages community volunteers to assist in measuring results and overseeing funding distribution.

Last year, the 2008 Metro United Way Community Campaign raised $28,500,000.The reach is so great that two out of every three people in our community will use a metro United Way-funded service in their lifetime.
