Agency Mission Statement or Description:

The Louisville Zoo, the No. 1 non-profit attraction in the region, is dedicated to bettering the bond between people and our planet by providing excellent care for animals, a great experience for visitors, and leadership in scientific research and conservation education. The Zoo is accredited by the American Association of Museums (AAM) and by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA).

Economic Impact:

The Louisville Zoo has close to 95,000 Indiana visitors a year (see map). The attached map also shows that 5,388 Indiana residents have a Louisville Zoo membership.
The Louisville Zoo is an important non-profit organization that adds to this area’s quality of life and economy.

While we currently don’t have a formal economic impact study for Southern Indiana, we will complete one in the near future.
