Agency Mission Statement or Description: To serve regional nonprofits in their quest for excellence and efficiency through education, consultation, and services for their staff, volunteers, and board members.

Economic Impact:
There are 1,220 nonprofits in our region with revenue of at least $25,000 per year. The Center for Nonprofit Excellence (CNPE) exists to serve them. We create a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence through education, consultation, and many other services around nonprofit management.

In all our work, we focus on impactful topics like development, human resources, and financial management among others. This translates into strong, efficient nonprofits that impact our community’s quality of life and its bottom line. In fact, the total revenue generated by the nonprofit sector of the metro area was nearly $6 billion in 2006. That translates to about $334.2 million contributed by nonprofit employees in income taxes and 6.1 percent of total salaries paid in our community.

The nonprofit sector is way more than charity. It is doing the necessary work of building and supporting the region’s growth and sustainability, and CNPE has built a clear commitment to that aspect of the nonprofit sector’s community leadership.

The impossible becomes possible when people gather to collaborate, innovate, learn, and share, and that possibility enriches the entire city and state. We are proud to be doing this work.
