Bruce Morris, “lens” credibility to local business community

2.07.08 One Southern Indiana presents the Ambassador of the Year 2007 Award to local photographer and business owner Bruce Morris, of Morris Images. The award recognizes Bruce for his diligence in photographing local business events, grand openings, ribbon cutting ceremonies and business meetings promoting Southern Indiana companies as well as his commitment and time serving on the Ambassador Committee. As an Ambassador, Bruce is also involved with promoting membership, facilitating networking among businesses and welcoming new members to the business community.
“In today’s fast paced communication; the picture worth a thousand words-is vital; and the picture absolutely has to be its best!” says Bruce Morris referring to his work with 1SI. “That is why I help One Southern Indiana. They are devoted to promoting business in this area, and they need the best photography to convey their message. I enjoy being an ambassador and I am able to meet other business leaders and develop relationships. That is what business is all about."
“Bruce is a business super hero,” says Kyle Morey, VP of Membership & Strategic Alliances for One Southern Indiana. “Not only does he give of his time and stalwart talents, but he makes us look good in everything we do! It is business leaders like Bruce that move the local economy in a positive direction.”
Lives His Mission
Bruce has used his expertise in photography to teach others at IVY Tech State College. He has served 10 years on the McCulloch Volunteer Fire Department as a lieutenant; he is an active volunteer at Northside Christian Church, has been honored by the Indiana Academy of Parent Leadership, and is currently mentoring his son to Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America. Bruce also serves on the One Southern Indiana Expo Committee and the New Albany City Planning Commission.
Bruce Morris lives out the mission of Morris Images: to develop and grow relationships while positively impacting the community. "I have the greatest job in the world,” says Bruce. “Photography places me with people at very important times or events in their lives. I'm fortunate to serve with other business leaders on the Ambassador committee and I believe I speak for the entire committee when I say that One Southern Indiana has done a tremendous job in promoting business and it is indeed a privilege to serve with them."
