Mayor England Welcomes Indiana Tech to New Albany and Southern Indiana
09.18.2009
New Albany Mayor Doug England recently welcomed Indiana Tech, a college based in Fort Wayne since 1930 with 13 campuses or satellites around the state and nearly 6,000 students, to New Albany and Southern Indiana at a special reception.

Indiana Tech Ralph Berthiume and Steve Herendeen presented the Mayor with an Indiana Tech Warriors mascot bobblehead and a mug in the college's signature orange color. Indiana Tech is immediately offering a selection of classes online and is currently seeking a site to locate its College of Professional Studies classes in New Albany beginning spring-summer of 2010.
Indiana Tech offers accelerated, accredited degree programs from Associate to Bachelors, Masters, and Ph.D. studies. Classes in the professional studies program meet weekly and in short sessions, designed especially for the adult student already in workplace who wants to complete a degree or achieve an advanced degree. The college offers credit for life experience, a strong selection of online classes, on-site workplace classes, financial aid, and a wide range of programs including business management, organizational leadership, global leadership, accounting, human services, criminal justice, and engineering-related programs.
Indiana Tech made a decision to focus on New Albany and the southern Indiana community based upon strong demographics for the types of programs the college offers and the profile of students they serve in other locations around the state.
