ONE SOUTHERN INDIANA RECOGNIZES OUTSTANDING BUSINESSES

NEW ALBANY, Ind. - (May 14, 2009) - One Southern Indiana held the twenty-first annual Southern Indiana Business Awards program today at Northside Christian Church in New Albany. The awards program, chaired by Roxanne Uhl, branch manager of National City Bank on Charlestown Road, honors business owners and professionals in Clark and Floyd Counties in Indiana.

Michael Dalby, president and CEO of One Southern Indiana, welcomed 300 members, guests, and nominees to the luncheon and awards presentation. “We are pleased the response to this annual event continues to be very strong in terms of sponsorships, nominees and attendance for this program,” said Dalby. The highlight of the luncheon was a professionally produced video spotlighting the finalists in each category.

The independent judges were: David Bingham, Business First; Shirley Ohta, Eagle Steel; Shea VanHoy, The Evening News – The Tribune; Dr. Vijay Krishna; Indiana University Southeast; Mike Waiz; Community Foundation of Southern Indiana, Caren Marshall, Bridgepointe Goodwill Industries, Kevin Hammersmith, Duke Energy; Alicia Kane, PIP Printing; and Susan Miller, Rock Creek Christian Academy. Judges rated the applications based on staying power, client and sales growth and innovation, as well as professional and community involvement.
