2010 Conference a Great Success

03.19.2010

Diverse and unique, yesterday’s 11th Annual Minority & Women Business Owners Conference provided the opportunity for hundreds of minority and women owned businesses to connect with key decision makers. The attendees of the conference exited the showroom floor raving about the opportunities that the conference had provided them, including the exclusive MatchMakers program.

“I have attended over 30 conferences in the past 3 years and, I was very impressed with the organization and how smooth the show ran. I look forward to following up with the leads I obtained from the show,” said Dave Himmelein, Corporate Marketing and Project Manager for The Standard Group, a certified minority owned company.

Another popular item on the agenda was the Jimmy Buffet inspired “Cheeseburger in Paradise” themed luncheon. Guests were greeted with a Hawaiian Lei and quickly slid into the Parrot Head atmosphere. With tropical tunes spinning and a buffet of beach favorites, including shrimp and key lime pie, everyone in attendance left rejuvenated.

“What a great success!” Carol Dawson, EEO GUIDANCE and committee Chair, noted as she and fellow committee members wrapped up the conference yesterday. Dawson and a planning committee of 22 are rightfully gleaming with pride today after an amazing conference. The One Southern Indiana Staff, Board of Directors, and committee members are delighted to hear the compliments of attendees and look forward to their continuance of service for the region’s business community.
