One Southern Indiana Awarded Accreditation by U.S. Chamber of Commerce
02.26.2010
Good news! One Southern Indiana is pleased to announce that after a comprehensive self-review, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce has awarded us with “Accredited” status. This prestigious honor puts us among the top 4% of chambers nationwide. A total of 24 chambers were awarded some level of accreditation, and we were one of two receiving the distinguished Accreditation status.
“Achieving Accreditation status recognizes that One Southern Indiana is meeting or exceeding the ‘best practices’ of chambers nationally,” stated Michael Dalby, President and CEO of 1SI. “The reviewers specifically commended our one-to-one member services, our successful economic development program and our new public policy council as examples of business association excellence.”
This past year, the staff of One Southern Indiana spent countless hours completing the Accreditation process. Our task: demonstrate competency in 9 core areas ranging from finances and human resources to programming and facilities. Our performance in those areas was then evaluated by a committee of association professionals and experts. “The result is this rating,” stated Dalby, “But in truth, our board of directors and all of our members should take pride in this milestone achievement—they made it possible.”
The only national program recognizing chambers for their effective organizational procedures and community involvement, U.S. Chamber Accreditation recognizes 1SI’s ability to renew, improve, and promote sound business practices, policies, and procedures.
