Seven new associates join Stites & Harbison
in Kentucky — nine hired firmwide
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Dec. 7, 2009)—The law firm of Stites & Harbison announced today the addition of nine new associates to the firm. Seven associates were added to the Louisville and Lexington, Ky., offices and two were added to the Nashville, Tenn., office.
Assigned to the Louisville, Ky., office are:
Tyson K. Adams is a member of the Business & Finance Service Group. He graduated magna cum laude from the Louis D. Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville, Louisville, Ky., in 2009. Adams was chief justice of the Honor Council and a member of the University of Louisville Law Review. Prior to joining the firm, Adams was a summer associate for Stites & Harbison in 2007 and 2008.
Amy K. Jay is a member of the Business Litigation Service Group. She is a 2009 graduate of the Louis D. Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville, Louisville, Ky., cum laude. Jay was a member and associate notes editor of the University of Louisville Law Review. She joined Stites & Harbison after participating in the firm’s summer associate program in 2007 and 2008.
Sarah O. Cronan is a member of the Health Care Service Group. She earned her J.D., magna cum laude and Order of the Coif, from the University of Kentucky College of Law, Lexington, Ky., in 2009. Cronan was a notes editor of the Kentucky Law Journal. Prior to joining the firm, she was a summer associate for Stites & Harbison in 2008 and a summer intern for Brown-Forman Corporation’s legal department in 2007.
Rebecca A. Weis is a member of the Employment Law Service Group. She graduated cum laude from the Louis D. Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville, Louisville, Ky., in 2009. Weis was president of the Student Bar Association, a member of the University of Louisville Law Review, and a member of the Moot Court Board. Prior to joining the firm, she was a summer associate for Stites & Harbison in 2007 and 2008.
Vonda Kirby is a member of the Business Litigation Service Group. She is a 2009 graduate of West Virginia University College of Law, Morgantown, W.Va. She was president of the Black Law Students Association and was a member of the Moot Court Board. Before joining the firm, she was a summer associate for both Stites & Harbison and YUM! Brands, Inc., in 2008.
Assigned to the Lexington, Ky., office are:
Jonathan E. Harris is a member of the Intellectual Property & Technology Service Group. He is a 2008 graduate of the University of Kentucky College of Law, in Lexington, Ky., Order of the Coif. He was a member of the Kentucky Law Journal. Prior to joining Stites & Harbison, Harris participated in the firm’s summer associate program in 2006 and 2007. He also clerked for the Hon. Karen K. Caldwell, U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Kentucky.
Ashley Crafton Owens is a member of the Torts & Insurance Practice Service Group. She graduated from the University of Kentucky College of Law in Lexington, Ky., in 2009. She served as a faculty appointed member of the Honor Council and was comments editor and staff member of the Journal of Natural Resources and Environmental Law. In that journal, she published Comment, “The Jury’s Role in Eminent Domain Compensation,” Fall 2008. Prior to joining the firm, Owens was a summer associate for Stites & Harbison in 2008 and a judicial intern for Chief Judge Joseph M. Hood, U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Kentucky, summer 2007.
The seven Kentucky-based associates are admitted to practice in Kentucky.
