FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE December 7, 2009
Clark County Red Cross to offer Scholarships for Nurse Assistant Training
The Nurse Assistant Training (CNA) program is currently taking registrations for its next class. Due to grant funds becoming available, the Chapter is able to offer $100 scholarships to each member of the upcoming class, scheduled to begin Dec. 28. Class size will be limited to 10 students. Scholarships will be awarded on a first come-first served basis, contingent upon acceptance into the program. Scholarship application forms will be available at the Red Cross Chapter, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., or by visiting our website.
A deposit of $75.00 is still required and applicants must complete pre-registration requirements such as a background check and drug screening. If a potential student is not accepted into the program, the $75 deposit will be refunded in full.
All interested students need to be registered by December 18. The 138-hour course consists of two weeks of classroom work and two weeks of clinical training. The total cost of the course is $675.
