Jeffersonville Boys & Girls Club hosting College Fair
March 25 event showcases education opportunities post-high school

The Jeffersonville Boys & Girls Club will hold its 2nd Annual College Fair Thursday, March 25, 2010. The event will provide information about opportunities offered in the region to pursue a degree or specialized training beyond high school. Confirmed schools include ATA Career College, Brown Mackie College, Daymar College, Eastern Kentucky University, Ideal Beauty Academy, Indiana University Southeast, Ivy Tech Community College, Morehead State University, National College, Ottawa University, P.J.’s College of Cosmetology, Spalding University, Spencerian College, Sullivan University, University of Louisville and Western Kentucky University.

The College Fair will be held at the Jeffersonville Boys & Girls Club, 1423 Pennsylvania Ave., Jeffersonville, IN on Thursday, March 25 from 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Event is free and open to the public. Adults looking to re-enter the education arena as well as young people who are either still in high school or who have recently graduated are encouraged to attend. On-site assistance with financial aid forms will be available.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Kentuckiana encourages its members to BE GREAT – a message that the potential for greatness lies within each of them. Each day, youth are challenged to BE awesome, BE amazing, BE anything they want to be. Boys & Girls Clubs offers a lineup of tested and proven nationally recognized programs to support this idea, teaching young people the skills they need to succeed in life. Programming is offered in five core areas: Character & Leadership Development; Education & Career Development; Health & Life Skills; The Arts and Sports, Fitness & Recreation. The Education & Career track specifically helps youth create aspirations for the future, providing opportunities for career exploration and educational enhancement – in other words, helping our community’s youth to BE GREAT.
