Don't miss out on the Junior Achievement of Kentuckiana's On-Line Auction

Reaching six Southern Indiana counties ...

JA ON-LINE AUCTION SPARKS EXCITEMENT, BENEFITS KIDS’ ECONOMIC EDUCATION

Raising money for economic education programs for kids is as easy as a touch of the keypad.

Thanks to generous donors, Junior Achievement of Kentuckiana’s third annual on-line auction is open to the public now through Thursday, March 11, building on a reputation for spirited bidding and good-hearted competition for more than 400 items. All proceeds will directly provide JA’s award-winning financial literacy, workplace readiness, and entrepreneurship programs for more than 44,000 children in Clark, Crawford, Floyd, Harrison, Scott, and Washington counties in Indiana and eight counties in Kentucky.

Sponsored by Republic Bank, the JA Achievers Auction is accessible on the web at www.jaky.org, where people may bid as well as donate additional items that will be posted immediately. Genentec will provide free shipping of all items, which are listed in a variety of categories that appeal to all bid amounts and ages. The unique, useful, entertaining, and practical items and experiences include a 2009 Pure model of the smart fortwo car donated by Sam Swope Auto Group; Indianapolis Colts suite tickets; a 32-inch LCD HDTV; Louisville Bats tickets; Southwest Airline tickets, and vacation accommodations.

JA officials hope to outdo last year’s 66,000 hits from all over the United States and world. The first two web-based auctions collectively netted $100,000 for JA’s programs, so this year’s goal is to surpass $50,000 in bidder’s spending.
