IU SOUTHEAST CONCERT BAND WINTER POPS CONCERT "THE GOOD OLD DAYS" RESCHEDULED FOR FEBRUARY 21 AHEAD OF WINTER WEATHER
(New Albany, IN) - February 11 - The Winter Pops Concert by the IU Southeast Concert Band originally scheduled for Sunday, February 14 has been RESCHEDULED - due to winter weather - for SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 21 at 3:00 p.m. in the Richard K. Stem Concert Hall of the Paul W. Ogle Cultural and Community Center on the campus of IU Southeast, 4201 Grant Line Road in New Albany. Tickets are $8 for adults, $5 for students, seniors, IU Southeast faculty & staff, and are available at the Ogle Center ticket office, at all Ticketmaster locations, by calling 1-800-745-3000, or online at ticketmaster.com. Free parking is available only in the Dogwood Parking Lot directly in front of the Ogle Center.
Under the direction of Donald McMahel and assistant director, Nan Moore, the 60-member Concert Band - widely regarded as one of the finest in the region - will perform a mix of popular standards from the 1900's to the 1960's, including Swing, Marches, Ragtime, and Broadway selections, and will feature the tuba section and the clarinet section of the band. Scheduled to be performed is "Strike Up The Band" by George Gershwin, "Clarinet Candy" by Leroy Anderson, a medly of swing tunes arranged by Warren Barker, a medley of Hoagy Carmichael tunes arranged by Peter Schaars, "The Trombone King March" by L.L King, "Tuba Tiger Rag" by Harry de Costa, "They Can't Take That Away from Me" by Gershwin and featuring IU Southeast faculty soprano, Melinda Cumberledge, a medley of selections from "The Sound of Music" by Richard Rodgers, a George Gershwin medley, and "The Crosley March" by Henry Fillmore.
Free parking for the concert is available in the Dogwood Lot only.

Parking: Free parking is available only in the Dogwood Lot directly in front of the Ogle Center from one hour before the performance until one hour after the conclusion of the performance. Vehicles parked in lots other than the Dogwood Lot without a permit will be ticketed.
