MIDNIGHT BASKETBALL SCORES WITH GENERAL MILLS GRANT
01.27.2010
The General Mills Foundation recently presented the YMCA of Southern Indiana with a $10,000 donation for its Midnight Basketball program for students ages 12 to 18 every Tuesday and Thursday from 7 to 11 p.m. in June and July.
From left to right are Michelle Portwood, General Mills' associate human resources manager; Dennis Enix, executive director of the Clark County YMCA branch; Scott Johnson, the YMCA's community outreach director; and participants Jabriel Allen of Jeffersonville and Sterling Schroeder of Floyds Knobs.
The popular program, which is open to all students in Clark and Floyd counties, will take place at the Southern Indiana Sports Center, 620 Park East Blvd., in New Albany's Industrial Park. The grant, which enables the Y to charge only $5 per student for the whole season, reflects General Mills' national emphasis on supporting community initiatives in youth fitness and nutrition.
