Southern Indiana has technical training for secondary and post secondary students seeking technical proficiencies in a multitude of areas.

IVY Tech Community College is one of twenty-three regional campuses that make up the state's third largest public higher education system. Some of the features are:
An open-access, two-year technical college that offers courses, degree programs, training leading to certifications and continuing education
Customized training/re-training programs available both on-site and on-campus for businesses and industries

Charles Allen Prosser School of Technology (Prosser School of Technology), in partnership with business and industry, prepares students for continuous learning and the acquisition of technical proficiency and work ethics. Prosser is an area vocational school serving 30 public and private high schools in "Vocational District 45" in Southern Indiana and located in New Albany. Eleven school corporations in Clark, Floyd, Harrison, Scott and Washington Counties in Southern Indiana send students to Prosser on a tuition transfer basis. The facility is owned and operated by the New Albany-Floyd County School Corporation. Some of the features are:
Programs are offered to juniors and seniors enrolled in cooperating high schools. Post-graduates and out-of-school youth are accepted on a space available basis.
Post secondary institutions will allow students in selected programs to receive credit toward an Associate Degree or Certificate in Training.
An overall advisory committee aids the administration in making decisions which may affect the operation of the entire school. Each program has its own craft advisory committee to make recommendations regarding program planning, development and implementation, equipment needs, and curriculum. Members who serve on these craft advisory committees are from those industries and businesses which relate to the programs being offered.
Programs: Automotive Collision Repair, Automotive Technology, Bricklaying and Concrete Finishing, Building Maintenance, Building Trades, Computer Electronics Technology, Computer Programming, Cooperative Education, Specialized Career Training, Cosmetology, Culinary Arts, Diesel Mechanics, Drafting and Design, Electrical Technology, Graphic Communications/Commercial Printing, Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration, Heavy Equipment Operations, Horticulture Science and Landscape Management, Machine Tool, Marketing and Entrepreneurship, Multimedia Graphics, Outdoor Power Equipment Technology, Pre-Nursing/Health Careers, Pre-College Pharmacy (evening program), Welding Technology
A student services staff consisting of an admissions/guidance counselor, a full-time job placement and follow-up coordinator, a half-time career counselor, an attendance secretary, a records secretary, and a financial aid officer provides services to all students. A one year and five year follow-up of all graduates is conducted. This follow-up shows that a high percentage of Prosser graduates go into the work force in the area of their training.
Vocational clubs include FFA, VICA, DECA, BPA, Junior Litho, and American Welding Society chapters.
