Features: The historic riverfront community of Jeffersonville features JeffBoat, a division of American Commercial Lines LLC, that builds barges and ties back to the building of steamboats in its early history. Clarksville, home to the famous Colgate Clock, one of the largest clocks in the world, also enjoys the riverfront. The Falls of the Ohio State Park features 386-million-year-old fossil beds (among the largest naturally exposed Devonian fossil beds in the world along with displays depicting the settlement of the region. The Clark County State Forest is in the north part of the county and the Charlestown State Park is located in the northeast part of the county and borders the Ohio River. Clark County is also home to IVY Tech State College located in Sellersburg.
Topography: Clark County, the larger of the two counties, consists mainly of relatively flat land suitable for development. Land in the northwestern part of the county consists of gently rolling hills and includes a section of "The Knobs".
