Jeannie Unruh to headline 1si ‘Pearls of Wisdom’ breakfast

The public can capitalize on that experience when Unruh addresses One Southern Indiana’s “Pearls of Wisdom” breakfast from 8 to 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 19, at Kye’s I, 500 Missouri Ave. in Jeffersonville. Now executive advisor/corporate relations at MAC, the guest speaker will share her journey’s challenges and successes, peppered with personal commentary, at the second in the popular four-breakfast series.

Guest speakers in the remaining Wednesday breakfasts are Diane Fischer, owner and president of L&D Mail Masters, Inc., on Sept. 18; and Judy Schad, cheese maker and co-owner/president of Capriole Farms, on Dec. 11.

Attendees at each breakfast will be eligible to win an 18” strand of Voyager pearls with matching bracelet that also can be used as a necklace extender. Donated by Bob and Jean Caesar, owners of Endris Jewelers on Pearl St. in New Albany, the pearls will be given away at the final breakfast on Dec. 11.

Table discussions following the keynote address and led by local women executives is another popular feature of the series. Jeannie Unruh has earned Presentation Academy’s Tower Award for Women Leaders in recognition of her community and business leadership as a role model for students. She currently serves on the board of directors of Guerin, Inc., providing services to at-risk children, adult learning, assisted care for the elderly, and affordable housing.

In addition to her contributions to the region’s business community, Unruh is past chair of the board of trustees for the Kentucky Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and was recognized with the National MS Society Sylvie of the Year Award in 2011 and named to its Volunteer Hall of Fame in 2012.
